Pulitzer Center AI Accountability Fellowship 2026-2027

A funded fellowship for journalists worldwide to investigate the real-world impacts of AI and automated systems, with up to $25,000 in support.

Provides up to $25,000 per fellow (up to $20,000 for reporting expenses and $5,000 for engagement/impact activities), plus mentorship and training, for a year-long investigative reporting project on AI accountability.

• Up to $25,000 in reporting and engagement funding
• Mentorship and training from the Pulitzer Center
• Support developing an impact and engagement plan for the investigation

• Open to journalists worldwide, early-career or established
• Must propose an original investigative reporting project on the impacts of algorithmic or automated systems
• Selected fellows commit to a project running September 2026 to July 2027
